You can use Backstage to set YouTube cards to point the below 

• A video on a VEVO channel

• A playlist on a VEVO channel

• A Merch link from YouTubes list of the approved merch sites https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6083754?hl=en

Creating Cards 

Video Cards 

Navigate to the card section via YouTube<Cards

Select Create Card in the top right-hand side 

 

Fill in a title for your Card Job title (this will not appear anywhere on youtube and does not need to be the same a the card title)

If you wish the card to go live in the future use the scheduled start date field to schedule the card 

If you wish the card to go live immediately please leave this field blank

Select the time you wish your card to start between 0 Sec -2mins, (30 sec is received for VEVO promo cards)

Search for the video you want the card to point to, this must be on a VEVO channel.

Add the Teaser Text you want to display on the card, there is a 30 character limit (click the I icon to see a preview of the card)

 

Add the Custom Message you want to display on the card, there is a 30 character limit (click the I icon to see a preview of the card) 

 

To add additional cards click the + next to Card 1 

You can add up to 4 cards 

You can apply cards to every video on a channel by selecting Channels and searching for the VEVO channel (multiple channels can be selected) 

 

You can apply cards to videos by selecting video and searching using the Artist, Title, ISRC, or YouTube URL (multiple videos can be selected and you are able to paste in this field)

Once you have added all the cards you want for this video(s)/channel(s) select Create Card at the top right-hand side. 

You will then get this success message and be brought back to the main card screen 

You will then be able to see the card Job and the Status -This will first show as processing 

And then completed 

Playlist Cards 

Navigate to the card section via YouTube<Cards

Select Create Card in the top right-hand side 

 

Fill in a title for your Card Job title (this will not appear anywhere on youtube and does not need to be the same a the card title)

If you wish the card to go live in the future use the scheduled start date field to schedule the card 

If you wish the card to go live immediately please leave this field blank

Select the time you wish your card to start between 0 Sec -2mins, (30 sec is received for VEVO promo cards)

Change the card type to "Playlist"

Search for the Playlist you want by passing in the playlist URL or ID to the card to point to, this must be a VEVO playlist.

Add the Custom Message you want to display on the card there is a 30 character limit (click the I icon to see a preview of the card)

If you wish the card to go live immediately please leave this field blank

Select Merch Link under Card Type 

Add the Teaser Text you want to display on the card there is a 30 character limit (click the I icon to see a preview of the card)

Add the Card title you want to display on the card there is a 50 character limit (click the I icon to see a preview of the card)

 

Add the call to action you want to display on the card there is a 30 character limit (click the I icon to see a preview of the card)

 

Add the URL you want  the card to point to this must start with HTTP:// and be on the list of Youtube approved merch sites(click the I icon link to this list)

 

To add additional cards click the + next to Card 1
