Why is the Vevo watermark missing from your video?
There are a few possible reasons.
There are 2 places a Vevo watermark can and should appear on official Vevo videos (on YouTube), the thumbnail (a), and the video itself (b).
a. Vevo watermark on the YouTube video thumbnail
b. Vevo watermark on the YouTube video itself (YouTube video player)
Why is the Vevo watermark missing from your video/thumbnail?
1. The video is not in the Vevo network yet. To convert a non-Vevo video into a Vevo video, you will need to chown the video. See this article to learn how to chown: https://support.vevo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011644994-Channel-Migration-CHOWNing
2. The thumbnail has not been updated via Backstage. This applies to recently chowned videos. The Vevo watermark does not automatically appear on the video thumbnail after an out-of-network CHOWN. Update the thumbnail via Backstage or send a reconcile update and check the "thumbnail" box to add the Vevo watermark!
3. The video is "Made for Kids" Videos marked as "Made for Kids" will not have watermarks in the YouTube video player. They will only feature the Vevo watermark on the video thumbnail. More about the "Made for Kids" setting here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9528076?hl=en
What if there is a Vevo watermark on a video that is not an official Vevo video?
If you find a video/channel that is abusing the Vevo trademark, or impersonating a Vevo channel, please report the offending content to Vevo Content Ops.
