Vevo Admin, also known as vevolive.tv, is where content providers can upload content manually and update videos metadata.
Manually inserting a video
To start, go to Ingestion > Upload video. You will then be asked to fill in the following fields:
Once you hit ‘Create’ you’ll be taken to a new page to input the rest of the video’s metadata.
Required fields
The genre, artist and YouTube channels are chosen from drop-down fields. If the YouTube channel is not auto-populating, it is not in our system and video ingestion will fail.
The below fields are mandatory
-Video title
-Genre
-YouTube Channel
Genre field - The genres which are chosen must be ones that are approved by Vevo and available in the drop-down. Custom genres are not available.
Artist field - If your artist/band does not yet have a vevo.com profile page, the artist's name will not appear in the Artist drop-down. When this is the case, simply click the green button to add the artist. This will automatically create a vevo.com profile for them when the video is published.
Featured artists can be added in the ‘Credits’ tab.
YouTube Channel field - The YouTube channel name must be put in this field and will appear from a drop-down to be chosen. The channel name must be in our network and end in VEVO (ex: artistnameVEVO). DO NOT put the YouTube channel URL (https://www.youtube.com/…..).
If the channel does not appear from the drop-down, it needs to be created. Put in your request here: https://goo.gl/forms/3E5jdNYXBrEZYQeW2 |
If you do not want the video to be published to YouTube, put ‘invalidVEVO’ in the channel field.
Territorial Policies
Territorial policies control where videos are allowed to be viewed and are a required field.
A territorial policy may be applied one time or saved for continual use. To configure a policy, country names are added to 1 of 4 groups: Free, Monetize, Block, No Rights. If no rights are directly applied, the default policy will take effect.
The 3 main rights which can be applied are:
- Monetize
- Places advertising with the content
- Block
- The video does not play in this region/country
- No Rights
- No rights are attached to the video
If no rule is specified, the default rule is applied. The default rule is specified in the field “For all remaining countries”.
To apply a policy once, simply enter country names into the “select a country” field. An auto-suggest feature will display the names of the available countries/regions. Once the country appears in the field, click one of the four buttons below (free, monetize, block, no rights) to add the country to the respective permission level.
Example custom policy:
Thumbnail images
Thumbnails are a required field to publish a video. Thumbnails need to be 1920x1080 in a .jpg file format.
Start and end dates
A start date is required field, but an end date is optional and can be left blank. You can set a start and end date and time for your video. If you apply an end date, the video will not be streamable on vevo.com or YouTube at that point. The time set is in the timezone you have configured in your Settings page.
Please note: You cannot put an end date that is earlier than the start date.
