What are reconcile updates?
A Reconcile update sends all of the video's current metadata, such as the description, tags, and all other fields through to YouTube/CTV again. A Reconcile makes no new changes to the video, but sends all the existing data through again.
How do I action a reconcile?
To action a reconcile update, click the three dots next to the "Publish" button on the a video's info page. Click "reconcile".
You'll then see this pop up menu.
A reconcile update always sends the metadata though again, and if you wish, it can re-send the thumbnail to YouTube/CTV as well. This is helpful if your initial thumbnail update did not go through, you can send it again easily with a reconcile!
You also have the option to send the captions through again.
A Note is required when sending a reconcile update. This note will be visible in the change log to any user with read permissions on the video. The required note is simply a way for Vevo Content Ops to see how users are interacting with this feature - and what common issues can be fixed with this type of update. To proceed, simply write the reason for the reconcile, and the "reconcile video" button will activate.
When should I use a reconcile update?
Reconcile updates are useful when a video hasn't updated as expected, and you simply want to repeat the previous update. It is also especially useful when a video is in the Needs Attention Status, which can often be resolved by sending a reconcile update.
A reconcile update is virtually harmless, as we're just repeating the previous update. Feel free to test it out on any of your videos!
