To run an ad campaign on your VEVO channel/ videos, you'll need to link your Google Ads account to the channel. To do this, you'll need a Backstage account and your Google Ads account number.
By following the steps below, you can link a Google Ads account to a Vevo channel for remarketing purposes.
This linking allows the linked Google Ads account to view video performance insights, such as organic view count, and allows you to show ads to this audience who have watched these videos. Also, by accepting the video link request enables you to promote videos on the channel linked as part of your Google Ad campaigns.
This linking does not mean that you are able to run or manage ads on videos on the channel.
Step 1: Find your Channel in Backstage
See the link: I can't find my channel in Backstage but got confirmation it was created.
Step 2: Click "link account" as pictured below (bottom right corner) and add the Google Ads number. Your Google Ads number looks like a phone number.
You will also need to add a description for the Ads number.
Step 3: Hit publish in the top right-hand corner to send this update to YouTube.
Step 4: Once you add the Google Ads number, you'll need to accept the link request from the Ads account. Detailed Steps below.

Link a Google Ads account to a YouTube channel
- Sign in to your YouTube Studio.
- Click Settings, then click Channel.
- Click the Advanced settings tab.
- Click Link Account.
- Enter a name for the link, a Google Ads customer ID, and choose which permissions you will grant.
- Click Done.
- Click Save.
- After the owner of the Google Ads account approves your request, your YouTube channel will be linked to that Google Ads account.
