Swapping out a video file for an upgraded version of a video on youtube is referred to as an Inline replacement.
Inline replacements require a minimum of 5k plays, and can only be done when replacing videos with higher quality (resolution, aspect ratio) audio or video.
Videos will not qualify for a replacement if you are requesting an editorial change, such as removing scenes or intros.
Raise a ticket to email@example.com asking us to confirm that the video qualifies
Please provide the following information:
Reasoning: i.e Quality improvements for all.
Once we have confirmed that your video meets the criteria deliver the video file to firstname.lastname@example.org
We will then upload the file to youtube directly.
The last step is for this for us to contact YouTube to switch the old video with the new one.
Vevo content ops will then contact you to confirm when the video version has been updated.
How long will it take for my video to be replaced?
We usually send these requests over to YouTube on a monthly basis during the first week of the month.
If there is a reason for your inline replacement to be rushed through, please state this in your request.
