Marking a video as "Made for Kids" if the content is aimed at a primarily younger audience is required by YouTube. This change happens at the channel level in Backstage, not each individual video.
Content that is made for kids is treated a bit differently. There are no ads allowed, no comments, no Vevo logo, and it is only eligible for inclusion in certain playlists. If you have questions about your video, please reach out to content@vevo.com who can help!
- Go to the Channel search page under the YouTube section.
- Search and click into the desired channel name.
- Scroll to the "Audience" section in the lower left-hand corner.
-
Check the box for "Made for Kids". You can read more about YouTube and their content policies here!
-
IMPORTANT: You must also publish the changes to the channel or the videos will not be successfully marked as Made for Kids.
-
When you see the "Publish queued!" banner, you're all set!
